Performance levels exceeded expectations across the wintery months of October, November and December. Over these months the project produced a total output of 610,177kWh – 9.6% above the projects’ target during this time period. While this was partially driven by higher than anticipated irradiation levels, the site also achieved a higher than expected Performance Ratio, suggesting that it has been converting sun light into power more efficiently than initially expected.
Across 2016, the site generated a total of 4,747,781kWh, enough to power 1,531 homes for one year (Ofgem TDCVs, 2015).
Chelworth Solar Farm performed to target over the final quarter of 2016; generating exactly 100% of target energy. Across the whole of 2016, the Solar Farm slightly underperformed, generating 97.69% of target output. This was largely driven by the poor generating month of June, where Solar Farms across the country significantly underperformed, due to poor weather conditions.
